I don't know half of you half as well as I should like;
and I like less than half of you half as well as you deserve.
Ah February 13th. I bet no one really thought about the fact that today was the 13th, unless of course you were thinking that, "hey today is the 13th which means tomorrow is the 14th, I need to get my significant other a gift." Every single year this day gets overshadowed by its more famous older brother, February 14th all because it happens to come the day before Valentine's day. No one ever seems to remember it. Well I purpose that that changes, because February 13th is a pretty amazing day and it need not go on forgotten. We shall remember this day as the very special day that it is.
After all it was this day in 2001 that an earthquake measuring 6.6 on the Richter Scale hit El Salvador and killed 400 people. In 1979 windstorms struck western Washington and sunk 1/2-mile-long section of the Hood Canal Bridge. A fire erupted in the World Trade Center on this day in 1975. In 1692 78 Macdonalds were killed in Scotland for not pledging allegiance to the new king William of Orange and in 1542 Catherine Howard, the fifth wife of Henry VIII of England, was executed for adultery.
Now this was quite a day, and I didn't even mention all of what happened on this day throughout history. We certainly should not let this day go unnoticed to future generations. In fact I think we should form some sort of holiday out of this day before Valentine's Day day. Let's just make sure not to get too wrapped up in V-day that we forget about the day that came before it, which also leads me to wonder about the fateful day that comes after it...
HT HT HT what in the world are we going to do with you and your insightfulness. Perhaps ask sugar how her V-day went and perhaps decide whether or not you should be tarred and feathered
idk man... the 14th was a really good day
Yeah . . . WOLBI is generally pretty adamant that their students continue on and work the summer at a WOL camp. It's considered part of your schooling. I had to put in an Outside Summer Ministry application back in October to try to get back to Lamoka, and my chances weren't all that good. But God is amazing, and I'm going back!!! =)
I so read that "Mcdonald" and I'm thinking to myself... woah...78 Mcdonalds workers were executed for not acknowledging the king.... what did they have against.... OHHHH MACdonalds. oops. ;) ~Sugar
