Well this is the first year that I've had a flu shot, and it also by chance happens to be the first year in recent memory that I've gotten the flu. Now I realize that scientists basically guess what strand of flu will be bad in a given year and that's what they make the shot of, therefore I got a strand of the flu that wasn't the strand I was immunized against. That being said, I have been down and out for the past week and it's been rough.
So thanks to my hiatus I think all of you have missed out on a few rants about the end of the world, or perhaps about Christmas being stolen, or any number of the many things I might usually talk about at this time of year. Well I'm not going to do any of those things, it's far to festive a season to be bothering with such annoyances.
All I'm going to do is wish you a very Merry Christmas. I hope that all of you will take some time to thank God for sending his Son, but not just sending Him, sending Him to die for us. It seems to me that Christmas has a whole lot more to do about Easter than anything else.
I'll be heading up north for the next week so I may be hit and miss for a while, or if you live up north I'll be more accessible. Either way, Merry Christmas!

seriously. dont ever get a flu shot again. all it does is give you the flu. really. its true. dont do it. again.
Yeah.. its like any other vaccine.. it introduces a weak form of the virus into your body and your body responds by creating antibodies- whereby any future occurances of the virus are snuffed out early. Those antibodies are eventually destroyed/flushed out of the body and thats why you have to get it every year.

Jim: Ok, well if you've never been sick, then you don't have any antibodies.
Dwight: I don't need them. Superior genes. I'm a Schrute...and superior brain-power. Through concentration I can raise and lower my cholesterol at will.
Pam: Why would you want to raise your cholesterol?
Dwight: So I can lower it.
Pam: Okay, what if you got hit by a car?
Dwight: Uh, don’t need to. Heightened senses.
Jim: Okay, you know what, Dwight, what if you got a really serious disease? Like ebola?
Dwight (snickers): No.
Jim: Well it could happen. Have you ever seen the movie “Outbreak�
Dwight: Yeah, well, have you ever seen the movie “Unbreakable� ‘Cause that guy couldn’t get sick. Just like me.
Jim: Okay, have you ever seen the movie “Sixth Sense� Maybe you’re already dead.
Dwight: ... Unlikely.

the flu shot uses an already dead virus. you can get a fever from it, but not the flu.
