I don't know half of you half as well as I should like;
and I like less than half of you half as well as you deserve.

My Death

Reports of my death are wildly over-exaggerated.

I thought last week was bad, what with staying up too late and getting up too early and then getting sick on top of it. This week on the other hand brings whole new meaning to the word bad. All started out well and I had a great cabin and it was shaping up to be a fantastic week. Then Monday night while sharing the gospel with my cabin (something I didn't do a particularly good job of this time around) I began to feel a sharp pain in the center of my chest. I figured that this pain would go away and so I prayed and sent the cabin to bed. Expecting the pain to get better I sat outside on my picnic table. The pain did not and I quickly made the decision to go see the nurse.

I stepped into the nurse's station and immediately could tell by my pale face that something was amiss. The pain that had started out as a sharp pain in the center of my chest began to spread and it was now on both sides of my chest and was more crushing. PW was informed of the situation and he asked me whether or not I thought I needed medical attention and if so he'd be sending me by ambulance. After some thought I agreed and the ambulance was called.

I was rushed off to the hospital and while the pain had subsided some I could tell there was still a problem somewhere. By this point I didn't think that it was heart related but we couldn't be sure until tests were run. After the tests were run and x-rays were taken it was determined that my heart is fine, and the diagnosis was inflammation of the lungs. There is still some question in my mind whether or not this is truly the problem but it is likely that it is something wrong with my lungs. After listening to my breathing the nurse said that it was not how it should be and we'll see in the coming days what will happen.

For now though, I am alive and basically everything is fine. Keep me in prayer though, I still feel a pain and/or pressure in the right side of my chest, and I am hopeful that what they gave me will fix the problem. I'll be back to the doctor's in a few days and we'll see what happens. I do have some really cool stories to tell if you're interested sometime though.
