I don't know half of you half as well as I should like;
and I like less than half of you half as well as you deserve.

The Sanctity of Marriage?

If you have ever discussed the sanctity of marriage your discussion probably in some way revolved around one man and one wife, and what they should and shouldn't do before marriage, and what types of activities they should and should not take part of with others while in marriage. That would be a good discussion for the right time I would say. Following God's plan for marriage can offer up quite a few blessings, and the only way to follow God's plan is to learn what it is. I'm going to take a stab in the dark though, and say that Bimbala Das, a woman from India, is not following that formula.

What formula is she following? Well she decided that she should marry a snake. Not just any snake though - a King Cobra.

As precious as this story is not only was she marrying this snake but she has determined that she is in love with it too. Evidentially she was very sick and she put a container of milk out for this snake. The snake came out, drank the milk, and didn't harm her, and she was healed of her sickness. This in turn caused her to fall in love with the snake, and then seek permission from the elders in her animal-loving vegetarian Vaishnav sect to get married. She had a traditional Hindu wedding with 2,000 guests, and her mother commented after the ceremony saying, "I am happy."

To say I'm disappointed in the recent occurrences of people marrying animals would be putting it mildly. I mean seriously this snake was obviously not interested in commitment, he wouldn't even come out of his hole for the ceremony, so I'm fairly confident there's no way he's going to take out the trash on a weekly basis and you can forget about him watching the kids. Honestly he'll probably stay in his whole all day and only come out for food, typical lazy bum if you ask me. She really could have done much better. At least the person who married a dog found a friend who would likely be loyal.

EARTH FIRST: Corrupt another planet later.

There are some weird people on this planet. Makes you want to believe in evolution. :) (hint of sarcasm)

hum......I didn't hear about this. Quite disturbing.

Disturbing is a good way to describe that.

Of all the animals she picked a snake...and a poisonious one at that. I wonder if she'll be so happy after it bites her.

that's insane . . .
I can't believe nobody thought that it was outrageous and totally absurd
I don't have the adequate adjectives to describe how moronic that is

i find the stupidity and irrational irreverance of some people to be amusing at times...but at least she had a good mom eh? most moms i know aren't happy at all with the snakes their daughters choose

Wow . . . that's random.

Scary...
Hey, I saw your Sugar, your mom and I'm assuming your sister-in-law at the Ladies Advance. :)

that's just disturbing... XP I doubt the snake even knew what was going on, and sooner or later, he's gonna cheat on her with some random female snake... I mean, at least a cow would have provided milk, and they're 'holy'! but still, disturbing...

oh, just to let you know, I plan on stealing a few ideas from the design of your site, if you don't mind... ^_^

God bless!

"how much you payin?"

nothing, zilch, nada... that's why I titled it "stealing" =D

haha........ um.. yeah, marrying a man is so much more appealing than a snake... I must admit. A snake has no hands and would never help with the dishes. Course then again... a man has hands and doesn't help with the dishes. ;) ~Sugar
