I don't know half of you half as well as I should like;
and I like less than half of you half as well as you deserve.

So who remembers what time of year it is? Anyone...anyone? Well if you guessed it's Easter time, then you would in fact be correct. For those of us religiously inclined that means the special time of year that we set aside to remember that our Savior died on the cross for us and rose again to free us from sin. For everyone else, it's a super great time to have fun with Easter eggs, chocolate, and other forms of gorging oneself. Also, students often get spring break, or other forms of time off school, and government workers get Monday off (I do not get this luxury). It is essentially one of the two holidays out of the year that everyone knows about, and nearly everyone does something for.

For years it's been Christmas that has been under attack. I suppose this makes sense, I mean really not only is it a holiday dedicated to the birth of Christ, but hey it even has His name in the title. So when someone says let's make it X-Mas, or Happy Holidays this makes perfect sense all the while Easter seems to have flown under the radar for everyone, being left untouched by liberals for years. Well guess what, all that changes this year. I suppose they figure they've won enough battles on Christmas that attacking Easter seems much more feasible this year, I don't know what the actual reason but this is the beginning of the end of this holiday as we know it as well.

You'd think that this attack had begun with the Easter Bunny a long time ago, but really this is not the case. The Easter Bunny stems from an early Catholic tradition of giving colored eggs to children around Easter time. This was then adapted into the Easter Bunny by the Germans (Martin Luther anyone?) who wanted to continue this tradition of egg giving without taking part in Lent (personally I don't blame them). In other words, the Easter Bunny is in fact not a Pagan tradition, nor was it created to take God out of Easter as many would have you believe.

The first attack came when schools started calling breaks "Spring Break" instead of Easter break. This was introduced fairly seamlessly because colleges have long had spring breaks, so for a high school to have one only made sense and it just "happened" to correspond to the same time as Easter (very similar to winter breaks). Some parts of the United States have transformed the Easter Bunny into the Spring Bunny, but other than that we have seen relatively few attacks on this holiday throughout the liberalizing years of present time.

What's up for attack this year you ask? Well first of all it's back to some of the same old tricks used with Christmas. There's a fairly organized group attempting to again remove the term Easter, from every possible. This is probably one of the most humorous things they could do. While it makes sense, from their point of view, to remove Christ from Christmas, removing Easter from Easter doesn't make any. The reason for this is that Easter is a word in English, German, and a few other languages traces it's roots to the word for April, which is actually a false God of some sort. In most other languages the word is derived from the word for Passover in Hebrew, but for us here in the US of A, that is not the case. So really Easter has always been called "April" which in effect means calling it spring break almost seems normal. The reasons behind this desired change are obvious. Those involved want to remove all references to Christianity from anything in this world. Essentially, although they won't admit it, the atheists goal is to make God disappear so that they can be a god themselves (humanism), thereby if they have noone disagreeing with them they must be right - right?

This is not the only thing under attack this year, however. Each Easter Monday the lawn of the White House is opened up to families to bring their children for the annual Easter Egg Toss (fortunately they haven't changed the name yet). This year there is a well documented effort by homosexual "families" (I use the term extremely loosely) to turn out for this event. They explain that their reason is so that they can show equality on some level or another. I suppose this would make sense except for the fact that they're trying to hard, and that in and of itself proves that they're not just doing it for equality. They're doing it for embarrassment, both to the Bush family, and to Christians as a whole. They want to take our biggest holiday and take it away from us, much like they took away the rainbow. It's not about showing equality, it's about shoving themselves down our face to say, "look at us, look what we're doing to your holiday, and see if there's anything you can do about it." I'm sure there's some of you who will read this that will disagree with me on this and that's fine, but when you look at the facts way deep down and beneath the surface you find out that the entire homosexuality movement is tied in with several other movements intent on purging the nation of our values and morals.

There's a reason Rome fell, and it wasn't just the barbarians. There's a reason we're going to fall, and it's not just going to be the terrorists. They tore themselves apart from within, just like we're doing.

lols.... Shanna is a stock holder in lotrfanatic. haha
On to your post... I like the reference to Rome... I certainly agree with you there and had conversations about it with my mother. The government, the people with harshly left points of view, athiests, and whoever else can certainly attempt to take away and distort our holidays but indeed they can never take away our faith.... We mustn't allow ourselves to become discouraged or feel like the world is overcoming, for surely, "the world passeth away and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth forever." 1John 2:17 ~Sugar

That is pretty dumb of them. While claiming equality people specifically attack Christians. Hey, if you don't want religion than don't attack one so you can establish your own. That isn't equality. That is hostile takeover.

A little common sense would go a long way for these people.

i think we should add happy colors.. this grey is a little depressing.. LOL

Did you hear about that one town out west somewhere (could have been California, in all probability) where they banned those little marshmallow peeps because they were "sponsoring a religion"? These guys are definitely trying too hard.

that's ridiculous. the whole egg/bunny/easter thing is a pagan thing to start with and has nothing to do with Christ's resurrection anyways.

you'd think we'd learn from Rome's example. pretty sad.

i have no money to donate, but i could send you some Yoda bandaids to cover any medical expenses.

Excelent post. Actually this is the first time I have read your site but I will be back. You are accurate in your analysis of the name Easter. This same Idea of Pagan roots enters the holidays of Easter, Christmas, Halloween, and other elements of oour culture. Christians used these fall, winter, and spring holidays to change them from their pagan roots and the gods that were worshiped into Christian holidays. So to speak the Christians Christianized the pagan culture. unfortunately in our generation this has been turned upside down as you suggest in the name changes and other moral and religious attacks. What was once Christianized is now being paganized. Part of the problem is our Christian retreat inside ourselves and our "separation" from the culture. Instead of reaching out and Christianizing the secular elements around us we are allowing the secular nation to take away any last outward vestage of Christianity in our culture. Before long we will have to take crosses off our churches and Christ out of our names. Anyway now is the time to stand up for Christiany and reach out to the world this will not be won on debates over holidays but instead through grass roots evangelism and making our celebrations larger than theirs the way this all started hundreds of years ago.

Its humorus to me that they didnt even get very much attention. Of course we heard it on the news, but they were welcomed just like everyone else. It would be like me saying that I was going to school to protest people that cant do the same. I go to school anyway. There was never a rule asying that they couldnt participate.

Penis size is the unwritten measure of masculinity and virility and viewed as and indicator of the ability to please sexually.
