I don't know half of you half as well as I should like;
and I like less than half of you half as well as you deserve.
...the Red Sox finally win the World Series. And of course it has been said that for these 86 years Babe Ruth had somehow cursed the Sox into not winning. Well frankly I would say its more likely bad baseball and not a curse that has held off the Sox all these years, but either way the Red Sox won the World Series in stunning fasion last night, knocking off the Cardnals in a 4 game sweep.
The fact that it was a sweep is also worth noting, as there are certain people out there (whom happen to owe me a pie) who think that the playoffs of baseball are fixed. Yes, fixed so that they go 7 games so baseball can make more money. Well this is quite honestly a crazy notion.
I mean take this year for example...if there was ever a franchise concerned about money it would be the New York Yankees, thats also a franchise concerned about nothing but winning. Yet when they had a 3-0 series lead over the Red Sox they lost??? Stunning yes, but not fixed. A really really really hot place would have to freeze over before the Yanks lost to the Sox on purpose.
Then, the Red Sox hit the World Series. Many people predicted 7 games because both teams had dynamic offences, however, because the Sox also have dynamic pitching - they sweep the series.
THEY ARE NOT FIXING BASEBALL'S PLAYOFFS!!!!!!!!!!!
Handsome Tom,
a point well made. You must be brushing up on your argumentive paper skills. Very nice. ;) I must say that I am joyful that the Sox won the world series, though it must be dissapointing for all those Cards fans out there. Keep smilin'.
GO SOX.. yeah.. no one thought they would do it..
and everyone told me i was crazy for thinking they could do it..
but.. MAN.. were they WRONG..

Wellll...are you sure it might not be a part of the great unseen movement to discredit white socks and create a whole new market thus driving white sock makers bankrupt and glutting our economy with red socks. In fact, remembering what many have forgotten, that communism was described as "red," might not there be some sinister move here, concocted with Boston years ago when they took the title of "red" to subtly reintroduce this totalitarian system to our society. After all, may I remind you, that this baseball team is not the only high profile factor to come out of Massachusetts recently. Nosireee, don't rule out the possiblity of game fixing. It all makes sense. It's part of a great conspiracy. Remember the old saying, "Just because you're paranoid doesn't mean they're not out to get you." :-D
lol.....hahahahaha....PC. that was GREAT!!!!! lol
In any case, think of the Red Sox winning as an isolated event in history. Like the passing of some random comet. See you in 2090. ;-)
Ah to be so young and niave.
